Masterchef semi-finalist, Elizabeth Cottam, is taking up a three-month residency at the New Ellington in Wellington Place, Leeds until December 2016.
My residency at The New Ellington will allow me to serve the kind of food I want to make and present it in a top notch restaurant environment, which is really exciting. Autumn is also my choice of season as it allows me to create all my favourite rich and comforting recipes. Food for me is a fantastic excuse for socialising and there is no better place to do this than in a hotel setting.
The menu, which focuses on classic British recipes using traditional autumnal flavours, will change monthly. Liz’s dishes will include; local Yorkshire confit duck with plums, golden beets & soya, a vegetarian Aubergine & tomato tart, whipped Tamworth cheese, rocket pesto and delicious Toffee, apples, vanilla cheese cake for dessert amongst other mouth-watering recipes.
The beautiful building and setting in central Leeds make for a peaceful and exclusive stay. The New Ellington is a wonderfully modern hotel, with loads of quirky little details scattered around to give the hotel character.
